Dancing for the Horses
Horse Haven of Tennessee's Annual Fundraising Event
On 17 April 2015, we will be kicking up our hooves and dancing the night away as local celebrity Dancers, professional and novices, show off their best moves in competition. As Horse Haven of Tennessee’s annual fundraising event, Dancing for the Horses raises financial support, awareness for our mission of providing shelter and care for horses removed from neglectful and abusive situations, and in recognition of ASPCA’s Helping a Horse Day as well.
During the event, local Stars, paired with professional dancers from Dance Tonight, compete before a panel of Celebrity judges. The Stars may or may not have experience in dance. So, they may have two left hooves, may discover their hidden talent or be gliding on the dance floor like Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. Fortunately for those Stars with little dance experience, the competition isn’t judged solely by dancing ability. Their fundraising efforts also factor into the final score as each are asked to raise a minimum of $1000. Either way, it’s sure to be entertaining!
A Silent Auction will be held containing fantastic items donated by our supporters like baskets filled with wine or a spa getaway package. Twinkie, our lovable mascot, as well as other recovered patients of Horse Haven will be in attendance to meet our guests.
The Silent Auction opens at 6 o’clock, followed by dinner at 6:30 and the dance competition at begins at 7:30. The Silent Auction will close 15 minutes after the last Dance Couple completes their routine. At which time, the 2015 Dancing for the Horses winners will be announced and the overall winner will be awarded The Isaac Award. Shortly after, the Silent Auction winners will be announced.
