Meet Our Columnists: Scott McNutt
Thereafter, McNutt endured decades of despair in the engineering, advertising, marketing and nonprofit fields, during which he squeezed in a brief, fraught stint as Knoxville alt. weekly Metro Pulse's managing editor. Over the years, he also has written various freelance material, including the humor column "Snarls" for Metro Pulse and the satire column "Snark Bites" for The News Sentinel.
He also contributed to such publications as Blank News; The Hellbender Press; Knoxville Voice; The Oak Ridger; Jack Rentfro's Cumberland Avenue Revisited: Four Decades of Music From Knoxville, Tennessee; New Millennium Writings; Process Safety Progress; Limb Loss Resource Guide; InMotion Magazine; First Step: A Guide for Adapting to Limb Loss; and SideStep: A Guide to Preventing and Managing Diabetes and Its Complications.
McNutt and his lovely, capable, forbearing wife, Dana, reside in a challenging old house in Knoxville, which the persevering handigrrl! wife is patching up and improving, while the hapless husband with his fistfuls of thumbs tries to prevent their excitable brat-terrier Abby Normal and their three insidious felines from destroying Dana's progress.
