Stabbing Victim Identified as Investigation Continues
Dennis Harold Littlejohn, 44, of Knoxville, was found lying by the road at the intersection of Buffat Mill Road and Brice Street just after 5:30 a.m., according to Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk.
An autopsy was performed on Littlejohn today and KPD investigators are interviewing his relatives and friends, DeBusk said.
Although details of the slaying haven't been released, DeBusk indicated that Littlejohn had apparently been stabbed multiple times.
Police said Littlejohn was clad in “a black, gray and white patterned hoodie and gray pants.” They are asking anyone who might have seen the victim or any suspicious activity in the Buffat Mill Road area to call 865-215-7212.
Littlejohn’s slaying is the 17th homicide this year in Knoxville, according to DeBusk. The city normally averages "24-26" homicides per year, he said.
